Chesapeake FC was formed with the motto that "Development is a Marathon, Not a Sprint"
While the Laws of the Game for soccer are somewhat simple and the concept of the game is easy to learn, it takes a great amount of training to become a great soccer player. In talking to the high school coaches in the area, almost every one states "first touch" as the most important skill/technique they would like to see incoming freshman be able to demonstrate at tryouts.
This is the number one priority for Chesapeake FC in our training in our academies and team practices as we also agree that touch on the ball is where quality players are developed and great teams are formed. After all, control of the ball is what allows a team to possess the ball to be able to score on their opponent and keep the opponent from possessing the ball to score on you.

Partnering For Youth is busy getting ready for the spring after school program. This includes soccer and futsal clinics throughout the county for grades 3-8 with Chesapeake FC coaches. They also administer the middle school soccer and track programs throughout the county. Both are excellent opportunities for inexpensive and low commitment training to help develop the soccer player. Look for their handouts in schools.

Today is the last day of Futsal games. It will be fun to see how the game helps transform Chesapeake FC players and teams during the winter in preparation for spring soccer.

This morning the BU15 team had their first practice. Great to see the boys and Coach Crew out there working hard in the cold preparing for the spring season. All about getting touches on the ball.
