Since this Friday is Valentine's day I thought I would post a recipe everyday that you could make for a gift. Sweets for your sweet! Today I would like to share Chocolate Toffee Crunch:
Ingredients:
1 sleeve of saltines 2 sticks butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 12 oz. Bag chocolate chips Chopped nuts (optional)
Line a 10 x 15 cookie sheet with foil. Place saltines on the cookie sheet, side by side and in a single layer.
Melt butter and sugar together in a small saucepan. Pour over saltines.
Bake @ 325° for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and while the saltines are still hot sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Wait 2-3 minutes and spread the melted chocolate. (If you want chopped nuts put them on now before you refrigerate)
Refrigerate at least one hour before breaking into pieces.
I know these are not ingredients you would normally think of to make candy but these are worth the try!
