Safety at Home Part 2
Until an accident happens, sometimes we don’t think about risks of injury that could happen in our own home. However, there are several common dangers in every home.
Here is a list to help eliminate your risk for injury and to prolong your health and independence:
7. Keep phones and emergency numbers in every room of the house, and by your bed.
8. Keep the house brightly lit: use the right wattage bulbs and nightlights.
9. If you live alone, stay in contact with a neighbor or relative on a daily basis.
10. Call your physician if you do not feel well or if you have questions about medications.
11. If you use a walker, do not carry items on the walker —use a rolling cart, walker basket or bag.
12. Never put anything on the stairway. Take your time on the stairs.
