Stroke Warning Signs

If you think you are having a stroke, don't hesitate, call 911 or go to the hospital immediately.

Here are the signs to look for if you believe that someone is having a stroke:

Think F.A.S.T.

Face
When smiling, does one side of the mouth droop?

Arms
With both arms raised, does one drift downward?

Speech
Can a simple sentence be repeated or spoken without slurring?

Time
For any of these symptoms, call 911 or get to a hospital immediately.

At the hospital, in some cases, clot busting drugs can be administered, but only within the first four hours of the first signs of the stroke. So time is of the essence.
