Marriage Talk.....Fighting Fair
Since you two will often be so busy setting up your new home, working on your careers, it's more important than ever to learn how to communicate. Couples who know how - and when - to talk about their differences, have the strongest relationships.
How do you two disagree - bitterly, with the silent treatment, or fairly, calmly? The psychologists who have studied hundreds of successful marriages over the last five years say that the way you two argue has more to do with the intensity - and outcome - of the conflict, than what the issue is about (sex, money?). How can you two learn to communicate openly? To have a realistic view of marriage?
Talk about what you hope to bring to your marriage, and get back from it, in return. Then, face your differences as they arise, so that anger and resentment don't build up. You two will stay close!
