Heart Attack Warning SignsSome heart attacks are very sudden and intense. Most heart attacks though start out slowly, with mild pain or discomfort in the chest and arm. Here are some warning signs of a possible heart attack: 1. Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more then a few minutes. The pain can come and go. The discomfort or pain can feel like an uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain. 2. Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Some symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw, or stomach. 3. Shortness of breath. This feeling also accompanies the chest discomfort. It can also occur with or without the chest discomfort. 4. Other signs. The other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness. If you or someone you're with has one or more of these signs, call 911 immediately. Get to the hospital right away. Never take these signs lightly. It's better to go to the hospital and find out it's a bad case of indigestion, then suffer the consequences.
