The Kennard Alumni Association with support from the Queen Anne’s County League of Women Voters will present an evening of “Musical History and Heritage” on Sat., February 20, 2016 at Kennard Elementary School, 420 Little Kidwell Avenue, in Centreville, MD. Come and experience this musical walk through African American history. The concert will feature the A cappella trio, “Sombarkin” of Kent County performing African American slave, folk, and gospel songs. Also featured are “Friends in Faith”, a local group of family and friends, performing songs relative to Black spirituality and the Black worship experience. This concert is a “must see and hear” for all family members. Doors will open at 4:30PM. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students (5 & under “FREE”). All proceeds benefit “The Kennard Alumni Scholarship Fund”, supporting deserving seniors of Queen Anne’s County. “Free” refreshments will be served.
