On days like today it's really nice to have hot soup and warm biscuits. We don't always have time to make them though. If you have Bisquick you can have drop biscuits in 15 minutes.
Basic recipe:
2 cups Bisquick baking mix 2/3 cup milk 1/4 cup margarine or butter melted
Preheat oven to 450°, mix together Bisquick and milk. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Brush melted butter or margarine on top of warm biscuits before removing them from the baking sheet.
Garlic cheese biscuits: just add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the Bisquick and milk mixture then bake as normal. Melt the margarine or butter and mix in 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder then brush on top before serving.
Cheddar bay biscuits: add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the Bisquick and milk mixture then bake as normal. Melt the margarine or butter and mix in 1/2 teaspoon of old bay seasoning then brush on top before serving. If you like more seasoning than that you can always sprinkle on a little more.
***Also if you prefer an herb biscuit with cheese you can always add 3/4 teaspoon of dill weed, crushed rosemary or Italian seasoning. The herbs or seasonings can be added right to the biscuit mix and you can omit the melted butter on top if you prefer.
