Keeping Cool With Ice
To help cool things off during the dog days of summer try getting creative with ice! Ice is an inexpensive way to keep your guest smiling and, more importantly, comfortable. If you are serving the ultimate summer drinks like lemonade or ice tea put some aside to fill an ice tray and freeze overnight. When it is time to serve just pop the ice cubes in a glass and pour. You can also freeze sliced lemons (or other summer berries) to garnish and to prevent drinks being watered down. If you are serving shrimp cocktail or other dishes that need to be kept cool make your own ice bowl. Simply fill a large bowl with water and center a smaller bowl. Freeze overnight and voila, you have an instant serving dish.
