I absolutely love molasses. Now for a helpful hint...use regular molasses such as Grandmas molasses and not blackstrap molasses. The blackstrap molasses is very strong and even bitter and is not good baked into gingerbread men. Trust me I found out the hard way. Lol. The newest kind of molasses I bought is called baking molasses. My main reason for buying it was to make syrup so if you like molasses try this easy, delicious molasses syrup. Hope you like it as much as I do!
Cinnamon Molasses Syrup
1/2 c. Brown sugar 1/4 c. Molasses 6 tbsp. Water 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon 1/2 tsp. Vanilla 1 tbsp. Butter
In a small saucepan whisk the brown sugar, molasses, water, cinnamon and vanilla over medium heat until it comes to a slow boil. Continue stirring until all ingredients are combined.
Remove from heat whisk in the butter and cool slightly.
Use immediately or store in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
