Health Events, Classes and Support Groups Offered in Chestertown During June
University of Maryland Shore Regional Health has announced a variety of health and safety-related events scheduled in Chestertown during the month of June, as follows:
Better Breathers Support Group – Tuesday, June 17, 12:30-2 p.m., UMSMC at Chestertown, Education Center. Open to anyone interested in better lung health. Topic: “Getting the Whole Picture,” including diet, doctors’ appointments, and respiratory care equipment. Guest speakers: Pam Roath, RCP, and Bryan Job, of Home MediService Inc. Lunch provided. Film Screening: “The Anonymous People” – Tuesday, June 17, 6:30 p.m., Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Chestertown. This documentary film highlighting the 23 million Americans in long-term recovery is a clarion call for a new and enlightened awareness of the promise of recovery from alcohol and other drug abuse and addiction, and for a new and better approach to addressing the suffering caused by addiction. Safe Sitter Class – Friday, June 20, 9 a.m-4:30 p.m., UMSMC at Chestertown, Education Center. Teaches youth ages 11-13 the basics of babysitting, including basic first aid, CPR , etc. Taught by pediatric nurses. Cost: $40 (scholarships available). Registration: 410-778-7668, ext. 2175.

The Chestertown Prostate Support Group will not meet during the summer. Monthly meetings will resume September 15, 2014.
