County Commissioner’s Forum on Animal Welfare June 10
Join all of the county commissioners on June 10 at the Bay Country Moose Lodge in Queenstown for a discussion on animal welfare issues. The event begins at 6:30 pm, and arrive early for seating. Each candidate will be asked to answer a pre-selected set of questions. “There are many Animal Welfare issues that affect us all,” said Amanda Hodge, Executive Director of Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County. “This is the time to really hear how these candidates fare where our county animals are concerned,” she added. The Candidate’s Forum on Animal Welfare is a joint project brought to all residents of Queen Anne’s County by the Animal Resource Foundation (ARF) and your county Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County (AWL). Both non-profit organizations work hard to rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out hundreds of lost, stray and unwanted animals every year. Our county laws affect how these animals are treated, how and when they are available for adoption, how we handle vicious and dangerous animals, and the continual issue over feral cats. Let’s work together to pick the right candidates for Animal Welfare. Contact AWL for further information: 410-827-7178.
