Want to run a 5K (3 miles), 10K (6 miles), or half marathon (13 miles) this fall? The Kent Island Running Group has a training program and a local target race for you! The actual training program kicks off July 5th, 2014 on the Cross Island Trail! The 5K and 10K programs are COUCHER friendly! It is designed to prepare beginning runners for their first running event. The Half Marathon program is not for beginners so you must be able to run a minimum of 5 miles in order to participate. We've even selected a local target race scheduled for Sat. Sep. 13th. It's the Run 4 Shelter, a staple race for local runners, which starts and ends at Kent Island High School. Registration fees include KI Running Group (KIRG) membership through Dec 2014, certified coach training, registration for the Run 4 Shelter and a KIRG training shirt. 5K and 10K fee is $60 and the half marathon fee is $100.
