Grasonville Senior Center will offer 4 week Computer and Technology Workshops throughout July and August. Topics include Digital Photos, Facebook, Android Smart Phones, iPhones, Internet Basics and Introduction to Word and Excel. Registration fee is $15 per workshop.
Digital Photos - Everyone can take a picture, but not everyone knows how to upload them on computers, edit them to improve their appearance, or share them with their loved ones. In this class, you will learn how to do all of this and more! You'll need a smart phone or a digital camera that comes with a removable memory card or a USB connection cable for this class! Facebook - How many of you have family and friends who use Facebook? Wouldn’t you like to join in on the fun and see why everyone you know uses it? In this class, you learn the importance of Facebook, how to use it safely, how to create and customize a profile, and how to find and communicate with your contacts. Mondays July 21, 28, Aug 4, & 11, 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Android Smart Phones - If you have an Android cell phone and wish to learn how to properly operate it, you’ve come to the right place. You will learn how to navigate your phone, how to make voice commands with Google Now (if you have that application), how to customize your screens, and access and download programs designed to enrich your life. You may wish to bring your instruction manual for reference. Also, we will access the Play Store on your phone, so you’ll need to have your Google Play Account established and set up prior to the first day of class. Internet Basics - This class is best for the individual who doesn’t know anything about the internet and wishes to learn. We’ll start with opening Internet Explorer, understanding the layout of various web pages, inputting website addresses, and conducting searches in search engines, so you can learn the basics and grow into a functional internet user. Wednesdays July 23, 30, Aug 6, & 13, 10:30am – 12:00pm
Intro to MS Word / Intro to Excel - This class is designed for individuals who wish to learn the basics of MS Word and Excel. You will utilize MS Word templates to create and customize your documents. You learn how to select fonts, change margins, and other features to display your text the way you want. Then, you will use the fundamentals from MS Word to input and manipulate date in Excel, select and move cells, and so much more! Wednesdays July 23, 30, Aug 6, & 13, 12:30pm – 2:00pm
