KENNARD ALUMNI HOSTS “HERITAGE IN SONG” CONCERT
The Kennard Alumni Association with support from the Queen Anne’s County League of Women Voters, will present an evening of “Musical History and Heritage” on Sat., March 1, 2014 at Kennard Elementary School, 420 Little Kidwell Avenue, in Centreville, MD. Come and experience this musical walk through African American history. The concert will feature The Washington Revels’ Jubilee Voices of Prince George’s County, performing songs of African American bondage and freedom. Also featured, will be the A cappella trio, Sombarkin’ of Kent County, performing African American slave, folk, and gospel songs. This concert is a “must see and hear” for all family members. Doors will open at 5PM. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students (5 & under “FREE”). All proceeds benefit “The Kennard Alumni Scholarship Fund”, supporting deserving high school seniors of Queen Anne’s County. “Free” refreshments will be served.
