Causes of Fibromyalgia While doctors do not know what causes Fibromyalgia, they do have some theories. What they do know is that Fibromyalgia is more common in women, Doctors have theories and believe that Fibromyalgia is a combination of several physical and emotional stressors. Depression 6. Thyroid levels off 7. Gluten intolerance 8. Magnesium, Vitamin D & B12 deficiencies 9. Hormone changes due to menopause 10. Sleep disorder 11. Food intolerances or allergies 12. Low serotonin levels So, as you can see, the range is far and wide. The best bet is to get a blood test and eliminate some of these symptoms above and go from there.
