Pain Levels When I was at the doctors a couple weeks ago, I snagged a brochure on pain levels. Today, I thought I would share it with you. On a scale of 0 through 10: 0 = No Pain 1 - 3 = Mild Pain 4 - 6 = Moderate Pain 7 - 10= Severe Pain Use this scale to measure your pain and write down how you feel several times a day. Take your notes with you when visiting the doctor and discuss the results with him/her. Tell your doctor if your are feeling sad or nervous or even having trouble sleeping. These issues can make your pain worse. Ask your doctor about different treatments for different kinds of pain. Also tell your doctor if the medications or treatments do not work or are causing side effects such as constipation, sleepiness, itching or nauseau. Pain can be treated - it should not ruin your life. Ask your doctor to help you set realistic goals for treatment.
