Better Mulch! All mulch is NOT the same. Premium mulch is a by-product from the milling of hardwoods from forestation projects. The bark from the tree is stripped, and the smaller branches (which are largely bark due to the small size of the limbs) from tree tops are shredded into the bark. The resulting pile is then shredded again to mix and insure no larger pieces of wood exist in the mulch; hence, the designation “double-shredded hardwood mulch”. Then the mulch pile is allowed to age for approximately six months while adding water. This process creates heat to break-down the materials which creates the deep brown color of premium mulch. I’m not going to pick on the recycling guys again… Maybe just a question, is this the mulch you’re buying? greenwoodcreeknursery.com
