A new Dementia Caregivers Support Group will meet for the first time on Thursday, July 17, 6:00-7:30 PM at UM Shore Nursing and Rehab at Chestertown, 200 Morgnec Road. The first such support group offered in the Kent County area, it will be led by Stephanie Golebieski, RN, xxistant director of nursing at UM Shore Nursing and Rehab (along with other staff from that facility) and Arnie Denayer, admissions director, Corsica Hills Center in Centreville.
“There are so many families in the Kent-Queen Anne’s regions who are providing care for elderly relatives with Alzheimer’s and other conditions that cause a dementia onset, we really felt like a support group was needed,” says Golobieski. “Those us facilitating the group have completed the Alzheimer’s Association training, and we are looking forward to helping caregivers in our area with the support and information they need.” For more information about attending a meeting of this group, contact Golebieski, 410-778-4550 or sgolebieski@chesterriverhealth.org.
