A series of Free Financial Wellness seminars will be offered by the Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA), a non-profit educational speaker’s bureau. There will be four seminars offered throughout the month of September presented by Scott Butler, president of the Maryland Chapter of SOFA.
A Talk & Tea featuring these free seminars will be sponsored by both Grasonville and Kent Island Senior Centers; however adults of all ages are welcomed to attend. Each will take place on Thursdays at 12:30PM and light refreshments will be served.
You and Your Credit Score will discuss what is in your credit report, how to improve your credit, how to check your credit score, how your credit score helps you, and the five factors of scoring. To be held Sept. 4 at Grasonville Senior Center.
Life Insurance and You will discuss Life Insurance 101, who needs life insurance, the types of life insurance available, how life insurance can be used, and how to file a claim. To be held Sept. 11 at Kent Island Senior Center.
I.D. Theft will discuss what to do if you’re a victim of ID theft, steps to prevent fraud, warning signs, and what they do with your information. To be held Sept. 18 at Grasonville Senior Center.
Stress and Your Health will discuss what stress does to anyone under financial difficulties, to what extent you can control stress, what creates the stress response in your body, what action steps you can take, and effects of stress on your body. To be held Sept. 25 at Kent Island Senior Center.
